Congratulations to THS senior Cloey Duffield for getting 2nd place in the state for her art piece concerning Holocaust commemoration. She created it in the spring of last school year after she visited the "She Wouldn't Take Off Her Boots" memorial in Greensboro. After studying this memorial and the history behind it, she created her own memorial for a Holocaust survivor who eventually called NC home. Cloey connected with a survivor who had been an artist, and she chose to memorialize all the writings, art, music, etc. that was lost during that period of time. Her piece fit perfectly with the theme and prompt for this year's contest. She was recently recognized at this year's commemoration with Governor Stein. We are so proud of her!
