Future Farmers of America (FFA) students from Eastern Randolph, Providence Grove, and Wheatmore High Schools participated in the annual FFA Legislative Day on Tuesday, February 18, in Raleigh, North Carolina. The event focused on civic engagement, leadership, and citizenship development, providing students with a unique opportunity to engage with state legislators and discuss important agricultural and community issues.
Throughout the day, students attended leadership sessions designed to strengthen their understanding of governmental processes and their role as future leaders in agriculture. They also had the invaluable experience of meeting with local legislators from their respective districts to discuss current topics affecting agriculture, education, and rural communities.
FFA Legislative Day is an annual event that reinforces the organization’s mission to cultivate future leaders and engaged citizens. By participating, students gain practical experience in government affairs while voicing concerns and ideas that impact their schools and communities. This event is an incredible opportunity for our students to see firsthand how legislation impacts agriculture and their future careers. It also allows them to build relationships with policymakers and develop their skills in advocacy and leadership.
